My Dear Husband.
This is a bright beautiful day without after a dark stormy week. – The children Anne and Mary are both more comfortable Anne was indeed very sick for two days – she can only sit up a little while at a time now and it is a week to day since she has been confined to the bed. She cannot bear the least light scarcely, and the lids of her eyes seem paralised by the fever & measles. I shall take the best of care of her in hopes that time will restore them – Marys eyes I have kept wet clothes upon to keep down the fever & measles & she is not so bad yet – I hope
